Welcome to the Pura Vida Farm Blog

Updated: Jan 5, 2023

Whether you want to save the Monarchs by planting milkweed, want to help save native bee species by planting natives or just want to plant something different, a variety of native plants exist to help you do just that. Every little bit each of us does helps. At Pura Vida Farm, we're here to help you do just that.

While the main website provides the most important information about growing each native species and the wildlife that those plants serve, this blog will go into more detail. Entries will include a more detailed look at various aspects of native gardening. Post categories are expected to include the following:

  • Species Spotlight - An in-depth look at each plant species one-by-one.

  • Intro to Native Gardening - An introduction to basic tasks for a successful garden.

  • What's in a Garden - An in-depth look at different garden types, where to use them and which plants to use.

  • Peak at the Pollinators - Similar to Species Spotlight but focused on the common Pollinators around this area

A naturalized area on the property that was loaded with native bees, honeybees, butterflies, skippers, and other pollinators prior to our recent cold snap. It's sure to be abuzz again once the weather warms this weekend:

As always, we're...

Helping you Help the Pollinators,

Grower Greg
